IZVRS - The Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia

Company description

The Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia (IzVRS) encourages the development of an innovative water policy and contributes to social development and quality of life of the individual. The findings of studies, research and the services of IzVRS are pointed to the possibilities of reducing adverse effects of human activities to water and, in turn, contribute to the reduction of adverse effects of water to human lives and property. IzVRS implements new knowledge on the modern water management into practice, transfers the knowledge and creates opportunities for a dialogue among experts and decision-makers in water-related issues. As an initiator of communication and dialogue among the scientific, expert, administrative and civil society it enhances the understanding of the water–environment–society–economy relationship, in order to support the wider social recognition of the importance of sustainable aspects of water management.
